The Bein Merlot is a Merlot in classic Pomerol style, elegant and complex. It is our flagship, the optimal synthesis from the wines of our various batches.
It reflects best the integrated
terroir of our cool southern slope and strives for perfect
balance between primary fruit and sweet-spicy barrel flavours.
This Merlot is matured for one year in small 225L oak
barrels, of which between 35% and 70% are new, made up of top-quality, tight-grained
French oak.
Our Merlot is generally complemented with a splash of one of
the other classic Bordeaux varieties, often Cabernet Sauvignon or
Cabernet franc, but also Malbec or Petit Verdot, depending on the
vintage, to enhance complexity.
After bottling, we allow the wine to mature another year in the bottle
before release. It can be enjoyed young, but will reward the connoisseur over many years.with beautiful maturation flavours.
Serving suggestion: Serve at 18ºC,
open an hour before or decant. Best enjoyed with a hearty meal such as roast
venison or a juicy pasta dish. Also delicious with fine cheese and bread.
